Despite being MIA for 2 weeks, I only have Marriage and Bridegroom updates to offer you guys this week. 💦💦💦

SO sorry for my absence — lab and course work suddenly ramped up, got a new thesis project, wrote a 8k word+ paper (that is on draft #5 and I really never want to see it again 😂), and have a new paper due this Friday that I’ve been trying to get a head start on since December but couldn’t because I’m an idiot and despite 4 meetings with the professor I couldn’t find a suitable topic, lol. Is this what being a grad student feels like?

Anyway, all my thanks to c69bby and Somebody for the (much-needed) coffee! I really really appreciate it!!

Also thanks to everyone who was concerned about the jjwxc fiasco and poked me. I thought about it for a long time, talked to some other translator friends, and I think I’m gonna just take things one step at a time. For now, everything will remain the same — I’ll be posting my translations publicly here on my site. We’ll see if I end up regretting this decision in the future ^^;;

Cross your fingers for me in hopes I’ll finish this paper soon — and that I’ll be back with new updates after the bane of my existence in the last 3 months is gone, haha.

Ah ah ah ah ah sorry for the late updates!! Prostrates myself and offers the full chapter for Former Sweetheart QAQ!

Would have had these up sooner, but we had literally the biggest snow storm ever yesterday?! I swear I have never seen so much snow in my entire life! It was like 40cm of snow in a single day, I was so shook! ❄️❄️❄️

Anyway, it’s getting late here so I’ll keep things brief. Cheryl is still working on their new project so I’ll be recombining Former Sweetheart chapters on Monday until we add another project! Don’t be surprised if you see nothing on Thursday for the next month or so, haha!

My graduate class started back up today, so here I am uploading these chapters past midnight 😂 After Monday’s little scare, I’ve been scrambling to stockpile some chapters lol. Fingers crossed I can both get dem A+s and keep up my translating schedule!! 😤

I was reading scientific papers and collecting references for my own paper when I casually checked my calendar……and suddenly realized it was already Monday?!

And we’re back!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Did anyone receive something cool from Santa they wanna brag about? 🎄🎄

The change is because I’ve come to realize that it takes me an ungodly amount of time to post 4 chapters in one-go (since I do the final edits on the website pages itself), so you guys will probably hear from me two times a week from now on. Hope nobody minds too much!

And we’re back! Thank you so much to Ko-fi Supporter for the coffees, both me and Cheryl really appreciate it! Cheryl also wanted to thank you guys for all the warm welcomes!

It’s almost Christmas, so I can finally reveal my cute winter banner on the front page! I’ve had this in my folders for 2 years but kept missing Christmas on Sakhyulations, oops. Anyway, does anyone have anything fun planned? My plans are to start writing my papers for school (lol), especially because everything went remote again. Hope you guys will have a better holiday than me 😂. Remember to stay safe while having fun, everybody!

I am absolutely so sorry for making everyone wait for this long. I thought graduate school would be a breeze since its more research and less assessments, but boy was I wrong 💦💦💦 My supervisor is apparently working through the holidays so I will be too, but hopefully I can pump out more updates this month as a treat!

Also, I’ll like to give a warm welcome to Cheryl, a new, junior translator who I’ll be training in the coming months! They’re actually my family member who is really strong in Chinese but weaker in English. The hope is that we’ll learn from each other, and that Cheryl’s English will improve enough so they can help me out for my current projects 😂

But for now, Cheryl’s debut project is a short and sweet story called The Embarrassing Days of Accidentally Wearing the Same Clothes as the Campus Prince. It’s an oneshot and entirely translated already, but because it’s pretty long, I’ve split it into a few parts. Please look forward to it! (If any of you have some short Chinese story recommendations, feel free to throw them here and Cheryl will definitely consider them for their next project!)

Oh my gosh sorry for the late updates!! I got bitten by a bug on the wrist, which caused a major allergic reaction that made my entire wrist swollen. It has been a pain (pun intended) to deal with during the first two weeks of class.
